DIY Summer Skin Lovin

I’m reviving this space to share natural beauty hacks, DIY recipes (that you can do from the comfort of your own homes in Lockdown) and of course, to talk about all things Wildflower Naturals! 

Today, I'm sharing one of my favourite recipes for that dewy, hydrated summer skin glow.

You know that age old saying 'you should not apply it to your face if you can't eat it'?

Well, this is skin food!

 I call this the Summer Lovin' Skin Popsicle 

Facial Popsicles are a great way to instantly minimise pores, stop excess oil/sebum and soothe the skin in the summer heat. 

This one contains some healthy, pantry staples:

  • Green Tea - The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties clear up acne and oily skin. It also contains Vitamin E that deeply nourishes the skin and protects from UV damage and pre-mature signs of aging. 

  • Lemon - Lemons are naturally rich in Vitamin C which is an anti-oxidant and astringent for the skin. It also helps heal acne scars and aging spots

  • Cucumber - is a summer blessing, really! It's got all the essential nutrients and works for all skin types. Fun fact: it's 96% water so it's as hydrating as it gets.

(Make sure to do a patch test before you apply it completely on your face)

What you need:

  1. Cucumber Cubes/Slices 

  2. Lemon Cubes Slices 

  3. Green Tea 

  4. Ice cube tray/ Freezer Mould 

  5. Hot Water 

What you need to do:

  1. Add your cucumber, lemon slices and green tea to a cup of hot water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. 

  2. Now, pour the tea concoction into the ice cube tray moulds

  3. Freeze for 3-4 hours 

  4. Voila, get ready to ice, ice baby!
